title=The Hundred Years War
desc=In this year of Our Lord 1440, the interminable war between the crowns of England and France enters its one hundred and third year of conflict. The young King Henry VI of England, barely 18 years old and weak-willed, rules from London while his regents try to maintain English possessions on French soil. Facing him is Charles VII of France, son of Charles VI, who is against Henry VI becoming King of France and has managed to reunify much of his kingdom following the impetus given by the martyr Joan of Arc. This bloody dispute arose from the English claim to the French throne when Edward III asserted his rights as the grandson of Philip IV of France.
